CoreAVI expands its product portfolio to enable embedded display system manufacturers with safety critical graphics support for Freescale’s® very low power i.MX 6 series ARM® Cortex® based processor family. High reliability system manufacturers from all markets can now take advantage of CoreAVI’s comprehensive development of ARM based safety certifiable OpenGL graphics drivers.

Tampa, Florida – July 28, 2014. Core Avionics & Industrial Inc. (“CoreAVI”), a Channel One company, today announced the availability of embedded graphics drivers and safety critical certification support for Freescale’s i.MX 6 series single-, dual- and quad-core processor families based on the ARM Cortex-A9. CoreAVI’s OpenGL driver suite is designed to unlock the i.MX 6 series processor’s power-efficient and feature-rich integrated Vivante graphics core processing for real-time and safety critical operating systems.

Freescale’s i.MX 6 series processor provides system manufacturers with an efficient power profile architecture that is ideal for very low-powered and advanced graphics for next generation panel-mount and portable avionics devices, cabin control and instrumentation displays. CoreAVI’s suite of i.MX 6 series OpenGL drivers are aligned with the latest FACE™ (Future Airborne Capability Environment) technical standards and are designed to support a wide range of different symmetric and asymmetric multicore processing configurations and multiple secure partitioned environments. The i.MX 6 series product offering includes the availability of complete RTCA DO-178C / EUROCAE ED-12C Level A safety critical driver certification evidence.
“CoreAVI continues to invest in developing solutions designed to support the use of industry leading graphics and system-on-chip processors across automotive, rail transportation and other safety critical applications,” said Lee Melatti, President at CoreAVI. “CoreAVI’s support for the i.MX 6 series enhances our product portfolio to support our customers with a complete range of very low powered to high performance display requirements.”
